{"id":271,"date":"2019-01-07T16:43:33","date_gmt":"2019-01-07T16:43:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/icom-philippines.icom.cust.oxymium.net\/membership\/membership\/"},"modified":"2019-01-07T16:44:11","modified_gmt":"2019-01-07T16:44:11","slug":"membership","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/icom-philippines.mini.icom.museum\/tl\/miyembro\/membership\/","title":{"rendered":"Membership"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"RTE_CONTENT\"> <!--TYPO3SEARCH_begin--> \t<!--  CONTENT ELEMENT, uid:8240\/textpic [begin] --> \t\t<\/p>\n<div id=\"c8240\"> \t\t<!--  Image block: [begin] --> \t\t\t<\/p>\n<div> \t\t<!--  Text: [begin] --> \t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>To qualify as an ICOM member, you must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be a museum or an institution recognized by ICOM as they are defined in the Statutes*<\/li>\n<li>be a museum professional or a person or an institution interested in the museum community evolution<\/li>\n<li>accept and respect the ICOM Code of Ethics for Museums<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The people or institutions \u2013including the staff- who sell cultural goods (objects, natural and scientific specimens) cannot become members.To a wider extent, this restriction applies to any person or institution that carries out activities that might lead to a conflict of interest with ICOM\u2019s activity. <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Categories of members<\/h3>\n<p>You can join ICOM Philippines as an Individual member or as an Institutional member.<\/p>\n<p><b>Individual members<\/b> are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Persons working full-time or part-time as museum professionals, as defined in Article 2, \u00a7 2 of the Statutes;<\/li>\n<li>Students preparing for a career as a museum professional;<\/li>\n<li>Retired museum professionals;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In a limit of 10% of the National Committees\u2019 workforce, other persons who, because of their experience or professional services they have rendered to ICOM for one of ICOM\u2019s programs or for a National or International Committee, are deemed worthy of being a member of ICOM. <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Institutional members<\/b> are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Institutions designated as museums;<\/li>\n<li>the following institutions, qualified as museums, are eligible to seek membership to ICOM:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Natural, archaeological and ethnographic monuments and sites and historical monuments and sites with museum-related activities including acquisition, conservation, and making material evidence of peoples and their environment;<\/li>\n<li>Institutions holding collections and displaying live specimens of plants and animals, such as botanical and zoological gardens, aquaria and vivaria;<\/li>\n<li>Science centers and planetaria;<\/li>\n<li>Non-profit art galleries as well as conservation institutes and exhibition galleries maintained by libraries and archive centers; <\/li>\n<li>Nature reserves; <\/li>\n<li>National, regional or local museum organizations as well as public agencies (ministries, departments or organizations) responsible for museums as defined in this Article;
